About the Role:

Is an internal facing role. Assists the Flavourists in product development, testing and upscaling. Preparation of samples and responsible for the maintenance of laboratory in preparation for product development, testing, pilot plant and upscaling.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Helping Flavourists to compound flavour samples in line with predefined procedures and specification requirements (taste, colour)
  • Helping Flavourists, Junior Flavourists and Flavourist Trainees with flavour application work.
  • To support preparation and shipment of samples to fulfill sample request
  • Maintain adequate stock of raw materials and ingredients. Follows established procedures in relation to laboratory maintenance and stock control.
  • Maintain laboratory, including upkeep of equipment, stocking of lab supplies and general cleaning of work areas. Maintains test equipment and components to eliminate measurement error thereby reducing product failure
  • Record results in an appropriate manner & communicates results to R,D&A Scientists
  • Provide technical support and participates in other R,D&A activity as required


Person Specification


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Certificate / Diploma in relevant science subject
  • Minimum 1-2 years' working experience as laboratory technician or internship in a flavour house or food processing company as part of the Diploma programme.
  • Operates in a testing laboratory / food science / flavour laboratory environment. Primarily laboratory and pilot scale environment
  • HACCP, manual handling, safety, chemical handling
